Summary
Appropriation Act No. 6, 2020-21, grants $13,365,393,906 for the federal public administration's expenses in the fiscal year ending March 31, 2021. The money will come from the Consolidated Revenue Fund. This money is for expenses that have not already been covered. The money is divided into two schedules, with Schedule 1 granting $13,220,184,919 and Schedule 2 granting $145,208,987.
The Act allows for the transfer of appropriations and specifies that the money can only be used for the purposes outlined in each item. It also allows for adjustments in the accounts of Canada after the fiscal year ends, but before the Public Accounts are tabled in Parliament, for adjustments that don't require payments from the Consolidated Revenue Fund. These adjustments can be made up to the day the Public Accounts for that fiscal year are tabled in Parliament for Schedule 1, and for Schedule 2, these adjustments can be made up to the day the Public Accounts for the *following* fiscal year are tabled.
Schedule 1 lists various government departments and agencies, along with the specific amounts allocated to each. These include the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and many others. The funds are for operating expenditures, grants, contributions, and capital expenditures.
Schedule 2 outlines additional sums granted to specific agencies, including the Canada Border Services Agency, the Canada Revenue Agency, and the Parks Canada Agency. These funds are allocated for operating and capital expenditures.
