Summary
This document is a summary of Appropriation Act No. 2, 2022-23. The Act allows the government to spend money from the Consolidated Revenue Fund. This money is for the federal public administration's costs and expenses for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2023. The total amount approved for use is $115,056,882,851. This amount is in addition to money already approved in Appropriation Act No. 1, 2022-23.
The Act outlines how the money can be used. Each item that is listed can only be used for the purpose that is written down. There are two schedules that are included. They list the departments and agencies that will receive money. The schedules also show how much each will get.
Schedule 1 includes $110,368,266,209 for various departments and agencies. Schedule 2 has $4,688,616,642 that can be used for the fiscal years ending March 31, 2023, and March 31, 2024. The Act says that after the fiscal year is over, some changes can be made to the accounts of Canada if they do not need payments from the Revenue Fund. Also, money in Schedule 2 can be paid out until March 31, 2024, but it needs to be used in the order it was approved by different Acts.
