Summary

Appropriation Act No. 3, 2023-24 is a bill that was passed on June 22, 2023. It allows the government to spend up to $20,478,605,110 from the country's money for the fiscal year ending on March 31, 2024. This money is for covering costs and expenses of the federal public administration that haven't been covered already. The money will come from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

The Act says that the money approved for each item can only be used for the specific purpose listed and according to any conditions attached to that item. Also, any changes to how money is moved between different spending areas, as detailed in the Estimates, are considered to have been approved from April 1, 2023.

Furthermore, adjustments can be made to the accounts of Canada after the end of the fiscal year, but before the Public Accounts are presented in Parliament. This is for changes that don't need actual payments from the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

The schedule lists specific amounts allocated to various government departments and agencies. These allocations cover a range of expenditures, including operating costs, grants, and contributions. The money will go towards things like salaries, programs, and different projects.
