Summary
Bill S-206 amends the Criminal Code regarding the disclosure of information by jurors. The main change is to create an exception to the rule that jurors cannot share information about jury proceedings that weren't revealed in open court. This exception allows jurors, and those supporting jurors with disabilities, to share such information with healthcare professionals. This is permitted when the juror is seeking medical or psychiatric treatment, therapy, or counseling for health issues that came about because of their jury service. The healthcare professional providing the treatment must be authorized to do so under provincial laws. The Act comes into force 90 days after receiving royal assent.

Bill S-206 amends the Criminal Code. It changes the rules about what information jurors are allowed to share about jury proceedings. It makes an exception to allow jurors to speak with health care professionals about their experience to get help. This would allow them to discuss details of the trial that were not public, to aid in their treatment.
